On 1-5 July 2019, we organized a summer school at UTBM in Belfort on the topic of microgrids with the support of CNRS, GdR SEEDS and the HAEOLUS project. The event gathered 28 participants from several European countries and included Ph.D. and master’s students as well as researchers and professors.
A series of lectures by academic (Colorado State University, FEMTO-ST/FCLAB, L2EP, G2ELAB) and industry (SINTEF, General Electric, Enedis) speakers provided the participants an overview of microgrids and their current challenges. A week-long project proposed by Typhoon HIL enabled participants to learn about hardware-in-the-loop by using dedicated software and hardware.
Social events were also organized to facilitate sharing ideas and networking, as well as discover Belfort’s strengths in the energy sector. See the school’s website for more information.
